This is our classic Tabby, Hunter. We adopted him along with a kitten in
2009. He was born in 2006 and was left behind when his family moved
away. He looked identical to a cat we had just lost earlier in 2009, and we
simply had to adopt him.
His name turns out to be a little misplaced because he isn't a hunter at
all - unless hunting for food, treats and affection count! Hunting would
probably interfere too much with his extensive sleep schedule. So we
usually call him Hunny (think Winnie the Pooh) or Hunny Bunny. He is
definitely a mama's boy - he always sleeps right next to her head and
bothers her endlessly for treats and attention, especially if she is a
sitting duck at the computer!
When we first got him he had the strangest habit of making smacking
noises with his mouth. He sounded sort of like he had bad-fitting
dentures. We worried he might have dental problems, but it turned out to
just be some sort of (nervous?) habit of his that eventually went away.
Hunter is a very sensitive boy. The first time he saw one of our other
cats having a seizure, he went a little crazy for about a week. We
couldn't really even touch him. But he recovered his normal sweet
personality and hasn't reacted that way since. He can be a stinker to
the girls (cats) sometimes, but he is mostly a good boy. We love our
Hunny Bunny!!
