This
is our cat, Africa. She's our very first one. We found her through
Facebook and adopted her right away! When she got home the first day she was
so tiny she could fit in both our hands. She was really scared, and bit my
sister's chin when tried to touch it. She ran under a small table and
remained there for three days, snorting at us every time we walked close to
her. We gave her her space and after a few weeks she accepted us and joined
our family, being super loving and kind. I could say she adopted us, instead!
When we first got her, her fur was short, so we were surprised when she grew
up to be so fluffy!
Africa loves boxes, bags and all kind of tiny places to hide in. She enjoys
hunting worms, crickets, cockroaches and other insects, purring and making weird
noises while eating them. She spends the day sleeping under a deck chair in
the garden. In the morning she jumps to the door handle of my and my sister's
bedroom and walks inside to then jump on our backs while we're sleeping,
walking while purring and clawing us until we wake up and stroke her.
She's very soft and fluffy, and warm during winter. She's very possessive
towards us, scaring away any other cat if they try to get close.
We also have a dog, Venus, and Africa jumps on chairs and couches to attack
her as she walks by. The poor dog never knows what attacked her!
