SirEatsalot is the most food-obsessed cat you will ever meet.
Any kind of food ... so long as it’s not vegetables. Dry food, wet food, people food, you name it, he wants some. No one can snack on anything in my house without his furry presence suddenly hovering
about and a paw on the arm as if to say, "How *you* doin'? You will share that now." It got so bad that we had to buy puzzle bowls for him and his littermate sister in order to force them to slow down eating.
That way our older, slower eaters had a chance.
But SirEats is not only food-obsessed, he’s clever too. And I mean really clever. As in, he can open our vittles vault food container, by himself, by pulling it out from under the cabinet,
digging his claws in and unscrewing the lid. Who says you need opposable thumbs? Here, watch. SirEats breaks in to his food
For every ounce SirEats eats, he works it right back off playing. Some cats aren't much for toys, but there isn't a mouse, ball or piece of string that SirEats doesn't see that he doesn't pounce on. One can usually find him during his crazy moments chewing on one end of a nip cigar while beating the other end about bunnyfeet style. Tying one's shoes around him can sometimes be a dangerous proposition, as he will suddenly land a paw, bear claws extended, trying to catch one end. And don't get me started on trying to knit around him. All the yarn belongs to him, and all projects are merely made for him to nest upon. He's just quality control testing, of course, because no knitting gifts are complete without the right amount of embedded cat fur.
SirEats would like you to believe he is the independent type. He doesn't snuggle, and he clearly likes to have his personal space respected by the staff when napping on the couch. But try and sleep in on a Saturday morning, and you'll discover a whole different side to him, one that really needed you to come downstairs and join him already. He will plant himself at the foot of the bed, with your foot in his paws, until you get up. Then when the stafflings finally comply and sit up, it's ecstatic headbutting and lots of encouraging meows as he pushes you along. But don't close that bathroom door on him, because if you're inside and he's out, that will need to be remedied immediately. (As will being inside for more than a minute, since the outside of the door also requires patrolling.)
He may not like to snuggle with the humans, but he is more than happy to with his littermate, affectionately known as Troublemaker. The two of them are bonded fursibs, who like nothing more than to intertwine in a sunpuddle, grooming each other until they both fall asleep in a cuddle pile. And though his adopted fursib sisters Marshmallow and Purrbot are not nearly as interested in cuddle piles or grooming sessions with him, he does take his mancat of the family duties towards them seriously, stationing himself in the cat tree, so as to have a good view out the backdoor when they are outside so he can bleat an alert out at their return so the staff can let them in. He also follows to make sure they are thoroughly sniffed upon re-entry, until they get fed up with him that is, and give him a thwack upside the head. Not that he minds, he never hits any of his sisfurs back, taking their beatings with good humor before heading back to his perch for a content nap, knowing everyone is home and safe.
