I found Felicia in a garden store. This store had pet supplies and sometimes they had kittens. My cat Cleo had just died and I was having trouble getting over it. I thought it would help if I got a new kitten. She was the only kitten they had that day.
After I got home with Felicia, I found she was not at all friendly. I couldn't pet or even talk to her without her hissing at me. So I fed her before leaving for work in the morning and again when I got home. The rest of the time I ignored her. Then one day when I came home, she met me at the door. She sat on my lap and purred all evening. From that time on, she was always at the door when I came home. And always on my lap or close to me.
I got Felicia in 1989. In 2006, because of my health, I had to move to a home where pets weren't allowed. Thankfully, a friend of my Aunt cared for her until she died in 2008. I never stopped loving her, though, and never will.
