My cat's name is Skye. She will be six months old on the fourth of
November. She was the biggest of her litter, her sister, Jelly
Bean, was the runt. My friend had given her to me because a feral
cat had trusted him and had kittens in his company. He gave me
Skye and Jelly Bean (Beanie Baby) because my previous cat had died
and I had been begging for a cat for months since.
Skye is an
extremely independent, but friendly cat who loves to go outside.
She often climbs the trees, bounds across the yard, and tries to
hunt down leaves. When inside, she likes to lay on my books,
drawings, or keyboard. Sometimes, she will sit on my shoulder and
just stay there; Whether I'm cooking, cleaning, or just walking
around the house. A friend calls her "parrot" sometimes because of
this, while her sister is sometimes called "ferret" because she is
very long.
Despite loving to terrorize our dog, Cocoa, by sitting
in her water bowl and eating her food, there have been times where
we have found them sleeping cuddled up to each other. She also
teases her smaller sister by pulling the food/water bowl away from
her while she's eating/drinking. Skye is also very picky. When we
try to give her treats, she won't eat it unless the pieces are
small enough. Sometimes, she will take the treat, bring it to
another room, and just leave it on the floor. As well, she will
sometimes take treats from her sister or the dog. We also think
she knows she's a pretty cat because she will turn her head up and
sashay away after a scolding. You can also find her sitting on the
kitchen table a lot. Even if we spray her with water (it was the
last resort, we've tried several other ways of scolding her), she
will jump off and jump right back on. Though she may be a handful,
she's one of the best presents I have ever received, along with
her sister.
