We adopted Trina from our local animal shelter in May 2013. She was left after having a litter of kittens. When I saw her picture on the website's adoptable animals I felt she was special. I went the next day to have a closer look. Once I held her I knew I'd be taking her home with me. I already had a rescue dog and later we adopted a kitten. Trina is special because she is the "peacekeeper." Whether it's a squabble between our dog and now grown male Maine Coon mix or if I get upset or emotional and cry she comes and brings calm to the situation. She's a gentle, sweet girl; a mother hen to each member of our family, whether two-legged or four-legged.
Trina is very sweet, but doesn't like being held. She follows me around and seeks my attention wanting me to pet her and we do the slow blink at each other to say I Love You. We adopted a nine-week-old kitten as a companion for her a year ago and though it took a few days for her to warm up to him, they are now best friends. I sometimes call her Tiny Trina as she was so small for an adult cat. Our kitten, Tiger, is now over a year old and much larger than Trina but she is boss. Tiger is all male and often "bratty." They love to run and play and chase each other. Tiger loves to pester Trina and wrestle with her. When he gets too rough she slaps him a few times and walks away. Trina loves to look out the living room window and watch the variety of birds and sometimes a squirrel who visit our bird feeder and bird bath. She chatters at them and swishes her tail. She taught Tiger to bird watch also and we often see them side by side, chattering and swishing. She is so awesome!
