This adorable boy is Mr. Mistofelees. I adopted him on December 12, 2014 at 3 months old. I really didn't need another cat as I already had two beautiful boys. But I made the mistake of holding a kitten (a beautiful little girl) at the Animal Rescue League in Brewster in mid autumn. It made me really want a kitten. But, I decided to think about adopting her for a week. When I went back, she had been adopted. But I realized I still really, really, wanted another kitten/young cat. After this, the ARL had no kittens or young cats available for adoption.
I kept pining for a kitten and looking at the other local animal rescue organization for adoptable young cats. Then I found out that the folks at the New England Society for Abandoned Animals had a litter of kittens from feral parents that were available for adoption. I met the litter of kittens and fell in love with Mr. Mistofelees almost immediately. I saw him (through the glass) on Monday, had a visit and held him on Wednesday and he came home on Friday.
A local family fostered the litter of kittens for NESAA. I work at an elementary school. One afternoon just after Mr. M came home, a colleague told me that there were kittens visiting the school. So, being the crazy cat lady that I am, I went to meet these kittens. I asked the foster mom who she fosters for. She said NESAA. I answer that I just adopted a kitten from NESAA. It turned out she and her family were Mr. M's foster family! What a SMALL WORLD!!
Besides liking to play, Mr. M loves (loves, loves loves) his food and sleeping on my lap while I watch TV. A few unusual things about Mr. Mistofelees: he is a polydactyl cat, two extra toes on both of his front paws and one on his back left paw; he has a ridge of fur running down his spine (kind of like a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog); and he has tuffs of fur on the tips of his ears.
