Beatrice might be a cat, but she sure acts like a dog. She greets me, her mom, when I come home from work, yelping excitedly down every step and then jumps on my shoulder riding all the way to the dinner time food bowl.
She plays fetch with anything thrown and will bring it back to you right away. She also likes to play make believe, sometimes dressing up as anything from a lion to a librarian. After getting her and seeing some outfits for dogs, I thought, why not cats too? And so I started to learn how to hand sew, and oddly Beatrice seems to enjoy her many outfits.
She's my first time pet and is the most loving and caring cat I've ever met. No matter who comes over, she wants to greet them as soon as she hears the door opening. Beatrice knows how to mournfully cry when her food bowl is empty. She even cries after finishing her morning breakfast, thinking it will twist me around her paw and give her more. Nice try, Beatrice!
I've been very lucky with her in that she doesn't do the typical destructive cat behavior, despite having all four claws. She's very gentle when she plays, never scratching nor biting any human hand. She loves laser pointers and is so fast you'd think she could actually catch the little red dot.
Beatrice is still just a young thing, so I look forward to how she inspires me artistically in creating new outfits for her. Her first birthday is coming up this July the 4th!
