Inish is my first Oriental Shorthair. We've always rescued in the past. After our last two rescue cats passed away from devastating illnesses, we couldn't go through that again so soon. But we were ready for another cat. We were very thorough and diligent in our research for a reputable breeder, and after finding a couple, the logistics ended up playing the biggest factor. Inish was the only Oriental Shorthair boy out of his litter of Siamese siblings. He looks just like his mama. We knew an OSH would be a great fit for our home, that is active and has a lot of new people in it at any given time.
He is so vocal and expressive. He doesn't know a stranger and is very curious. He has to sleep right on top of you and goes crazy for feathers. Inish has really fit in well here, greeting my photography clients happily. He is working on figuring out the latch on the cabinet I keep his favorite toy in (DaBird). He plays fetch. His favorite game is hiding behind doors and jumping out at you when you go through. He is very affectionate and curious. He wants to be doing what you are doing. You can have whole conversations with him. He is very expressive with is face, ears, and voice. He makes a variety of sounds throughout your conversation. And he doesn't have a regular "meow". He has more variation in his communication. His meow sounds more like a flat "wow".
