Nikola Tesla, called Niko for short, was found in a barn with his three brothers at about eight weeks old in October of 2014 by a local cat rescue. Four weeks later my boyfriend and I moved in to a cat-friendly apartment and immediately I knew I needed a kitty. We picked Niko because he was the only brother not chewing wires at the foster's house and was relatively calm (we later found out he had had shots and was tricking us, in no way was he calm). But adopting Niko has made every day better.
He is the most chatty, loving, timely, playful cat I have ever met. He wakes me up at exactly the same time every morning and cuddles on the couch until the real time I need to get up (not Niko time). And loves to hang out in laundry baskets and his carrier. But the most special thing about Niko is the fact that he keeps his loving playful disposition through food allergies that affect his digestion and skin. He has never changed through chronic digestive struggles, face cuts from itching, sores from food allergies, five vet visits in three months, and switching food seven times. He is my best friend and the cutest baby I know.
