We adopted Maisa from an animal shelter in December 2015. She was approximately six months old and really small when we got her. She had been undernourished and weighed only 1.1 kg and she was really shy. Now she has gained weight and much more courage. She's very talkative and likes to play and watch birds on our balcony.
My wife and I had three cats 20 years ago. We considered for quite a long time whether or not to take a cat again, but eventually decided to do so. My wife saw a picture of Maisa on the website of an animal shelter and so we ended up taking her to live with us. She looked so tiny and adorable.
At first Maisa was very shy and quiet. It took over two weeks before she had the courage to make noises or go to other rooms. She just stayed in our daughter's room in a box. Slowly she gained more courage and nowadays she is very active and curious. She likes to chase a ball or a toy mouse. Maisa is an indoor cat, but she likes to hang out on our balcony.
Maisa likes to show us her 'tiger jump' that is, Maisa runs and jumps to get a mouse that is hold up in the air. She has become more affectionate in the last couple of months. In them morning when we wake up, she wants to climb to sit and purr on our shoulders. But she's independet too and wants to be in peace sometimes. We love her very much.
