Loki was special the day I took him in. A friend had found him on the morning before Christmas. He was found wandering on the side of a highway, so his age is just an estimate. She mistakenly thought he was a female cat when she called to ask me if I could take him in. I picked "her" up and brought her home. My only other cat, Garfield, got along well with the new kitty. As "she" was lying on my bed, I noticed that "her" private area was much like my male cat's (I had never had a female cat at the time), although he was neutered ("she" wasn't). I was able to take "her" to the vet the day after Christmas. Sure enough, "she" was a he and despite being tiny, was estimated to be two years old! I had all intention of naming him Holly, but after that little trick he pulled, I had to name him after the Norse trickster god, Loki!
Loki and Garfield were very close. The picture with two cats is of them together. Both were loving kitties, but Garfield was the cuddly one. Once Garfield passed away, Loki became my cuddlebug. He even sleeps on my arm, and watches me as I fall asleep (my husband has told me this). Once he thinks that I am sleeping, he runs out of the bedroom to eat, drink, and play with his younger sister. He always comes back, when he is done, and takes a spot on his pillow, besides me (he's not spoiled at all ... hehe). When my husband comes home from work, he is always at the door, with the dogs, to greet him. I honestly think he is part dog, because he begs worse than the dogs ever have! He usually listens to my stern No's, though, unless it's tuna salad. He is a very special boy.
