Poppy had the foresight to wait a year and a half for me to find her at the Golden Valley Humane Society in Golden Valley, Minnesota. This was after she was rescued by the traveling humane society vet from a kill shelter in northern Minnesota. This was lucky for us both.
She is one smart kitty with a beaming smile, little pink tongue and funny sense of humor. She made short work of training me to get up in the morning with a gentle bonk on the nose, or two, so she can eat breakfast at the same 5am time every day. A running jump to a slide across the wood floors is her favorite way to play fetch. And making dinner each night as she watches from her microwave perch, we chitchat and chirp with each other about our days.
Poppy is a true blue sweetheart and my lovey dovey best friend forever. How lucky am I that she waited for me? Also, Poppy does a mean baby sea lion impersonation (see her last photo attached.). She's pretty special!
