Whisky had a tough start to life being abandoned as a kitten in a suitcase outside the cat rescue centre in Liverpool. When she came to live with us at six months old she was a very timid cat who was very wary of humans but she has slowly overcome her shyness and has turned into a very cheeky and affectionate cat. She has even got her own website which champions the cause of often overlooked tuxedo cats - you can visit it at tuxedo-cat.co.uk! She wants to educate everyone, even dogs, and her site even talks about their genetics.
Tuxedo cats are often compared to dogs because of their lively and energetic nature. They are also often very social cats who love the company of humans much like a dog, they love to sit on your lap for a stroke. We are happy she has blossomed into the pretty, loving girl she is now!
She is our first tuxedo kitty, in fact she's the first cat I've ever had, though my wife has had cats in the past. We decided to get her as she was one of the younger cats in the cattery and when we went to see her she was very interested in looking at us and meowing at us so she chose us really!
She is a bit of a scaredy cat, running away from any sudden movements, we imagine she wasn't socialised well when she was a young kitten due to her rough start in life, however once you have settled down on the sofa or in bed she will come and climb all over you demanding strokes!
Hey favourite toy is a sock filled with catnip, she loves to explore rooms which she's not allowed in and will endlessly jump up at the doors until they spring open allowing her in!
