My name is Shelby. When I was born, my real mom hid us kitties in a stairwell at an apartment building. Which was a good idea as she was sadly killed by a coyote when we were just three weeks old. One of my brothers jumped out at the owner of the building so we were saved!! The owner called his wife Susan who told him to put us (all six of us) in a box and bring all of us home. She sent her daughter to the pet store for bottles and they held us and fed us by hand for weeks until we could eat real food.
When we went to live with Susan, my mom had just put her first kitty Max to sleep at age 16 and was really sad. So Susan brought me to work to introduce me and it was love at first sight (although I did get lost/stuck behind mom's desk.) As I was held and bottle fed, there is nothing I like better that having mom pick me up and cuddle me. I like my chin scratched and the best is getting my tummy rubbed. Mom had a tough year when I was first with her with the loss of her sister to cancer, so I was there to make her laugh and to cuddle.
My favorite trick is to wait at the bottom of the stairs behind a wall and jump out at here every time she comes down stairs. It always cracks her up.. In this picture I was still a baby - taking a snooze at auntie Karen's house after playing with the "bird" toy. My favorite.
