Biscuit has a huge tale behind her (no pun intended!) I am from NJ and attended Roanoke College in Virginia. As I attended school there, I have noticed that stray cats are everywhere and was very concerned about this problem. I brought numerous animals to the local, humane shelters. Then one rainy night, I was in my dorm room with my friends, and I hear a distant meow outside my window. I meow back, because I am a crazy cat lady, and a little yellow cat comes running to my window meowing. I immediately got some milk in a bowl and brought it outside. As I brought her the milk, she can running to me, did a "head dive" and completely flopped on my feet, put her two paws below her chin, and looked at me sweetly. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen, and I just had to take her into my dorm. My friends thought I was crazy, but I insisted on keeping this cat in the room for the time being to give her shelter and because I was falling in love with her. When I went to get supplies for her, my friend "catsat" her and said she was fine and that she just kept doing that cute floppy thing. She loved her tummy rubbed when she did this. The next few days I put up posters to see if anyone was missing the cat, because she was so nice and looked very fed, I thought it would be impossible to be a feral. No one claimed her. I took her to vet, got her shots, and it turned out, that belly was not full of food, she was pregnant and was only about 5 months old! What a rescue.
I had to name her Biscuit because of her unusual yellow color, and because she had “little biscuits baking in the oven.” She lived in my dorm for about a week and half, until I got to come home to NJ and have her be part of our family, my mom and two other cats. She had the kittens a few weeks after, and continued doing the sweet floppy thing with them, cuddling them in her arms and laying next to them. She was such a good mom. She also won the heart of my very macho cat Tigger, who never liked any other cats and always chased them away with a growl. Now they are best friends and he is so much happier and sweeter to everyone. She always flops on him and they cuddle together. She not only brought beautiful kittens into life, but also joy and happiness to me and my family. We are so happy we found Biscuit; she is so sweet, funny, and has completed me and my family's life. After such a "tale" she truly deserves to be honored.
