Miyoko was trapped at a feral cat feeding station in a rural county in Virginia. We transported her to a cooperating veterinary clinic where she was spayed, eartipped, vaccinated and returned to her trap to await her return to the wild. But something happened between trapping her and transporting her back to the feral colony where she came from. We bonded and became best buds.
Miyoko came home with me ten years ago and has been a member of the family ever since. She's the smartest and most self-sufficient cat I've ever known and has enjoyed every luxury known to cats and humankind alike, including having her own exclusive cottage to live in, a pool to relax beside, any number of trees to climb and a lovely waterside dock to watch the river flow. The name Miyoko in Japanese means “beautiful child” - she is that and so much more!
