Introducing Jackie (a.k.a. Jackie-Jack). This big boy was the son of a feral cat who lived in my backyard. He was a very large kitty like his father. I did not know he was in the yard until he started coming out when I fed his father. He was living under some shrubbery and would not come out until I went inside. Eventually he would see me (and the food) and hop sort of sideways up to me and eat. I fell for him immediately! After about a month I persuaded him to come inside. Our relationship lasted for 11 years, until he had heart/blood clot issues that necessitated him going to the Rainbow Bridge way too early.
He had two household brothers and sisters that he sort of raised, Max, an Ocicat and Coco, an Oriental Shorthair. They each had avery strong bond as you can see in the pictures. He also adopted my wife when he met her nearly five years ago after hissing at her the first time they met. He fell in love with her and he was her " Big Black Teddy Bear Boy." He was my "Little Black Kitty Cat" and he was a friend to several other cats in the house. He was about 30 lbs. with a heart to match!
There are broken hearts everywhere but he left beautiful memories of a gentle soul that rarely comes along. He will be remembered forever by all who knew him. He loved to be brushed while lying on his window seat each night and would come to bed with us to get his chin scratched and then sleep with his favorite, Coco. May he rest peacefully until we are all reunited!
