We rescued Mac from the Elmore SPCA in Peru, New York three years ago at Christmas time. He was about one year old and as soon as we walked into the cat room we knew he was the one of us!
He is the most dog-like cat you will ever meet! Our dog passed away six months before we rescued Mac, so the two never met. But Mac lays and sleeps in all the same places that our dog did, and just like a dog, when you come home from work he is waiting at the top of the entry stairs to greet you!
Mac's daily routine consist of:
5:00 am - meowing up and down the hallway to wake us up and remind us that he hasn't been fed yet
6:00 am - weaving in and out of my legs as I try to make my way from the bedroom to the kitchen to prepare his breakfast
6:05 am - breakfast
6:07 am - breakfast is done and now it's time to dart back and forth down the hallway
6:10 am - decide which window to perch at and watch the wildlife
6:11 am - stare out the window
6:12 am - 5:00 pm - whatever cats do when owners are not home (I guess a mix of napping, playing, eating and refining his plans to take over the world)
5:00 pm - wait at top of stairs for owners to get home
5:02 pm - meow and pace back and forth as we enter the house
5:10 pm - nap time
8:00 pm - cuddle time with mom
12:00 am - bed time with daughter
Mac is a very special cat to us and we could not imagine life without him!
