This is my pretty little tuxedo girl Khaleesi (named after my favorite Games of Thrones character). I got her on April 1, 2013 from my vet. She was sitting all alone in a cage in the waiting room when I took my other cat Webster (also a tuxedo and a former Cat of the Day January 1, 2013) for his annual checkup. The vet said that her former owners had moved and left her and their other cat behind (how can people do that?!) Some kind neighbors fed them and built them some shelter but it was a very cold Connecticut winter. I can only imagine how terrible it must have been. Finally one of the neighbors brought both cats to the vet for adoption. The other cat was adopted quickly but nobody wanted Khaleesi because she was a senior (9+ year old) cat. So she came home with me. She has turned out to be a very good sweet cat. She gets along with her big brother Webster although if I pet or brush Khaleesi, Webster gets jealous and immediately wants me to pet and brush him instead. I have included one photo of them together, hanging out on a couch they are not supposed to be sitting on.
When I first brought her home she would sometimes lash out with her paws/claws but after a while she stopped doing that and now I can bury my whole head and face next to hers without her ever scratching me. She loves to have her head petted and she loves to suck the heat off of you in bed by snuggling up close. When she wants you to wake up and feed her she licks your hair (yuck, it's like having wet sandpaper dragged across your head). When my husband was sick in bed recuperating after a long hospital stay, she stayed next to him in bed every day. When nobody is in bed she snuggles with the stuffed animals. She deserves to be honored.
