I would like to introduce you to our Finnula (also known as Noola, Puddin', Puddineen, Faery Cat, and Princess Pork Chop). She and her sister were born to a neighborhood mama kitty under our back-yard shed some time in the autumn of 2011. We don't know exactly when they were born, as the first time we saw them was October 23, when mama proudly lead them out from under the shed and up to our patio window; so we have decided to celebrate their birthday on September 15. We continued to feed mama and the two babies through the thankfully mild winter.
In March 2012, mama kitty decided that the babies were old enough to fend for themselves and took off; and we knew we had to take them in. So one bright sunny morning, my hubby captured them and off we went to the vet for tests, shots, and spaying'we didn't even know they were both female. We brought them home and slowly introduced them to our senior cats, Callie and Fergus. We like Celtic names, so we named them Finnula and Bronwyn.
She was almost all white, except for her ears, mask, and tail, when we took her in; but over the years her coloring has changed, leaving her feet and toes white. She is still quite skittish and heads for the bedroom closet when anyone other than my hubby and I come into the house. She doesn't like 'people food', except for occasional tuna; but she loves her kibble. I recently discovered that she loves to be brushed, which is a good thing, as her coat is very thick; and she purrs loudly and trills while being brushed. She likes to sleep with me and to 'play chase' with Bronwyn. She doesn't run like other cats, but almost more like a rabbit, hopping from front feet to back feet; and there is a certain mysterious 'other' quality to her, which has lead us to call her The Faery Cat.
Her little face never fails to cheer me up when I am feeling blue.
