Silly is a black Russian Blue- a very rare color in the USA. Ony a few breeders are working with this color which is new to the USA but has been part of the breed for about 30 years.
Silly got his name because he is sooooo silly. The "Siriusly" is a reference to the character in the Harry Potter novels, Sirius Black, a large black dog and Harry's godfather. We were going to name him "Sirius Black" but his silly personality was apparent even as a kitten. We kept saying "You silly cat," to him so we named him Siriusly Silly.
Silly loves to cuddle up to us under the bed covers for a nap or to sleep at night. He is a very silly cat and plays many games including "fetch". We can throw a toy and he will bring it back like a dog. As a kitten, he would play for 15 minutes or more at a stretch until we tired of his game. Also, he is very fast. We took him to cat show which had cat agility, iCAT, (International Cat Agility Trials). He ran the beginnner course clean in 43 seconds and with one fault in 17 seconds. Not bad for a five-month-old kitten. He provided the spectators lots of laughs with his funny antics. Even all grown up he is still very fast and silly !!!
Silly is also a very sweet cat, very friendly- an extrovert. He is our feline greeter. If he is around when we have visitors, he will usually be the first cat to greet a stranger to our house. More than once he has gotten in a carrier wanting to go home with someone else ! We love our Silly boy!!
