Eyebrow just turned 20! Our son adopted her in late May of 2000 when she was seven weeks old and he was 20. He named her Eyebrow because he had just gotten his first piercing. Yep, you guessed it, his eyebrow. Life happens and two years later Mike got a roommate that was allergic to cats, so she came to live with us. She tolerates me but has been a great companion to my wife. She mostly endures other cats but did bond with Charlie (Cat of the Day, November 24th, 2000). She never struck up friendships with other cats, not even young kittens, so we were quite surprised with an incident concerning Zonker (Cat of the Day, October 1, 2009). Being a very young kitten Zonker was prone to get under foot and I accidentally stepped on his tail. Boy did he scream! Eyebrow was clear over at the other side of the house but she came running at warp-speed and attacked my legs. Sure was glad that I was wearing long pants! When she was about five years old her right eye started changing color so we took her to the Vet. She said not to worry, it was only pigment changes in the eye and wouldn't affect her vision.
We're told that a 20-year-old cat is equivalent to being 96 for a person. We hope she has many more years in her, and that we do as well as she has.
