Bootsie the Tabby Cat, the Cat of the Day
Name: Bootsie Simone
Age: Five months old
Gender: Female
Kind: Tabby Cat
Home: Memphis, Tennessee, USA
Bootsie Simone is a little kitten who we adopted when she was three and a half months old. We named her Bootsie because she has white fur that goes up her legs and looks like she is wearing thigh-high boots. Her middle name is Simone after the famous French existentialist Simone de Beauvoir, she who loves to explore. Every time a closet door is opened she runs and jumps into it. When the kitchen cabinets are opened, she immediately jumps in and it is very hard to get her to leave. She is obsessed with the toilet when someone touches it and is amazed when someone uses a blow dryer to dry their hair.

Recently she has developed an interest in candles. Unfortunately, while attempting to put out the flame she threw hot wax all over the couch and got it stuck in her paw. No harm done though, shortly after the accident Bootsie was up and running again. She has an unbelievable amount of energy and she could play all day long. Her favorite toys include empty toilet paper rolls, pens, and tennis balls. She also likes climbing our ficus tree. She is unbelievably sweet and will give kitty kisses throughout the day. She loves to sleep on my head during the night and occasionally she has been caught watching television. Although we've only had Bootsie for a month and a half she has brightened up our lives and entertained us to no end. And candles are a no-go at this house, for everyone's sake.
