My cat is special because she is the first cat that has ever belonged solely to me.
Growing up I didn't have very many pets. My family owned two cats, one after the other, but they were family pets and tended to pick favorites, and I wasn't the favourite of either cat. When I moved out on my own after my high school graduation I was lonely at first, and a girl I worked with had kittens to give away. Annie was the last one who hadn't been promised to anyone yet, and I was in love with her before I even met her.
When I picked her up, she was so scared. I held her and pet her while my boyfriend drove us home, and when we let her out in my bedroom she ran and hid under my bedside table, where she curled up and went to sleep. I let her hide until she felt safe. Later that night, she hopped into bed with me and curled up to go to sleep. Since then, she's grown to love both me and my boyfriend whom we now live with. She is the sweetest cat I have ever met. She never stops purring.
She will walk around the house purring, and if she stops, she immediately begins purring again when she looks at either one of us. She loves my boyfriend, but she is definitely my baby. She loves when I hold her, and when I take her outside for fresh air (she is an inside cat, so I hold her while we're outside). She love to just sit around us because she loves to be near me. She trusts us implicitly, and knows we would never hurt her. She has never once scratched or bit either of us on purpose. She is the sweetest cat. She loves her big sister, my boyfriend's cat Layla.
