My name is Mickey and the photo is of my cat Putz Putz. She is one year old, and an orange and white mix, and we both live in Tel Aviv Israel.
I first came across my kitty one year ago. Coming home late one night (around 2am) to the student dormitories in Tel Aviv, Israel, the guard - who knows I'm a sucker for cats - tells me there's this poor kitten who's been stuck in the hood of a car for two days and is now mewing desperately in the bushes.
Naturally, and against my better judgement, seeing as pets aren't allowed in the dorms, I went to to the rescue. The month-old kitten, not realizing a rescue attempt was underway, darted across the street and into another car hood. Then a miracle happened: of all the 100 cars parked on that main street, at 2 a..m in the middle of the week, a family came to THAT car. My roommate and I ran hysterically across the street yelling "there's a cat in the engine, don't turn the car on!" (the poor man thought we were nuts).
Anyway, since then (now in my own apartment) Putz Putz is queen. Pitz'l in Hebrew means tiny, thus the strange name. She's a psycho-cat most of the time, and I say she's one third cat, third dog and third human. She follows me everywhere, including the bathroom and shower, fetches toys and retrieves them, and mews on the balcony when she hears my footsteps in the street on the way home. Love of my life!
