"I'm
ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille." Hi! My name is Smokey and I
am a girl cat living with my "Mom" and "Dad" (they like me to call them
that!) in Maryland. Dad fell in love with me when he saw me in a cage in
a pet store standing on my hind legs and trying to take a swat at a
store employee who was cleaning cages. He figured I had "spunk." He
loves spunk. Dad says I am a Russian Blue, but I don't think I have an
accent or anything.
I do love to play. If Mom and Dad are watching
television or ignoring me, I'll just go lay down on my toy (a plastic
wand with a shoe string attached) and just have a fit until they pick it
up and play with me! Sometimes I just go crazy and run around the house
for no good reason, just to keep them guessing. At night, I usually have
to round them up to get them to bed on time. I will just stand at the
second floor overlook and stick my head between the railings and holler
like someone fell in a well or something. That usually gets their
attention. Once they are in bed and asleep, I come in and cry until one
of them invites me to jump up and lay down beside them. I'm a happy cat,
and my Mom and Dad love me. That is all I need to know!
