Tello,
I would like to introduce my beautiful chatterbox D.J.! D.J., as you
can see, is a breathtakingly gorgeous guy, and everyone who meets him
agrees he's a hunk! He was rescued as a kitten from a bad neighborhood in
Brooklyn, but was clearly intended to be a beloved house cat -- the first
time I saw him (in a cat trap, as a dirty and flea-ridden little kitten),
he made eye contact and meowed at me. He's developed into a loving and
extremely vocal big guy, who likes to boss the other cats around.
One of his favorite activities is rolling around on his back in the bathtub
and meowing the whole time to call attention to what he's doing! Burrowing
himself in the warm laundry is another of the things he loves best! One
more of his favorite pastimes is to shred new toilet paper rolls. We figure
it's one of his ways of getting exercise! We finally got a toilet paper
cover, because he was spreading it all over the place!
He was named D.J. for a few reasons - "D." for Daniel (as in the redheaded
actor Danny Kaye), "J." for Julius (as in an Orange Julius), and "D.J." as
an homage to our favorite Yankee Derek Jeter. Also, we're musicians, and so
it's appropriate to have a cat named D.J. (as in "disc jockey") in the house.
He's a real ladies' man! Whenever female friends or relatives come over, he
comes right out and starts head-butting them and rolling around on his back
to expose his big beautiful tummy (with the orange neck-tie) and
sweet-talking to them.
We love him very much!
