My
husband named him "Cow" as he was black and white! He came to us shortly
after we moved into our house. he was a stray, but very friendly. I started to
feed him and he kept coming around ... we even built a outside shelter for
him so he would keep warm in the winter. Eventually we let him in the garage
to stay. He had gotten into a lot of fights and became very sick through the
years. One day he was gone for a week or so and I put an ad in the paper and
got a response right away. I went and got him, and the very next day he went
to the vet to get neutered.
Cow was a very loving cat, he would head-butt us all the time and followed us
around like he was a dog. Then one day he was walking very funny after he
returned home. He was diagnosed with diabetes. I had to give him shots twice
a day. he did very good with his injections and all I would have to say to
him was it is time for your shot. Cow would come to me and wait for me to
give him his shot. He was such an amazing cat. He did go into kidney failure
and we had to put him down. That was one of my saddest days in my life! The
vet came to my house to put him to sleep so I could hold him in his last
moments. To this day I miss him dearly! He will be forever in my heart.
