Sarabi was rescued from an abusive situation when she was just about a
year old (we don't know her exact age). My sister found out about her
from a friend of a friend and she was not in a position to take in
another cat so she asked me if I could, and I didn't hesitate. Sarabi
moved in with me in December 2001 and she was small, shy, and timid. She
had a broken tail and walked with a limp, but over time her wounds
healed, she gained weight, and turned into a sweet and loving kitty.
I have moved around several times since then and she's always been with
me, through good times and bad. She saw me graduate from college, get
married, and have my son (in fact she inspects every new piece of baby
equipment we bring into the house before he is allowed to use it -
everything from the crib and changing table to his Thomas the Tank
riding toy!)
All pets are special, but Sarabi has been with me for so long and seen
me through so much that I simply cannot imagine what my life would have
been like without her.
