Calle the Calico Domestic Shorthair
Name: Calle
Age: Seventeen years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Calico Domestic Shorthair
Home: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Calle (pronounced Cally) is a lovely, slender and spry seventeen-year-old calico who has taken upon herself the role of companion cat to her elderly, bed-confined human mother. Calle spends the better part of each day close by, either draped over her mother's legs, curled up asleep beside her pillow, or burrowed under the covers when it gets cool at night.

Calle shares her home with two human mothers, as she has done since she was adopted at eight weeks of age; the sole calico in a litter of tabbies. She is an interesting cat--she answers when spoken to, and on occasion howls at night, waking everyone. Once she presented, with great pride, a mouse (deceased, fortunately) to her mother in her bedroom.

Over the years, several other cats have shared the house with Calle. She stayed aloof from them, apparently preferring human company to feline. She has been an only cat for about two years and seems content to be so.

Since Calle reigns as Cat of the House, she feels free to take such liberties as helping herself to unattended treats such as chicken and bacon. She is not above licking the butter when she counter-surfs frequently.

Calle is a treasured member of the household, and gives generously the kind of love and devotion only a long-standing member of the family can provide.
