We adopted Leo half a year ago because we had always wanted a cat, but boy did we get more than that! Leo defied all of our expectations. He was wild and independent, and hated curling on our laps or sleeping on our heads. He ignored the cat bed and scratching post we meticulously chose out for him and went straight for our couch. When we visited the vet, Leo was so crazy that the vet suspiciously asked us whether or not we spoiled him.
These days he loves to curl up on velvety things, purr and lick us lovingly with his sandpaper tongue. Though crazy, I always like to think that he's a philosopher inside, since he is always staring out into space, or out a window. When you're sad or just playing dead, he comes over and nudges you furrily. Though he is unexpected in every way, I always have a friend in Leo.
