My
Hobbes is the most gentle, loving spirit and my constant companion. I
rescued Hobbes from a local animal rescue center and right when I put him in
my lap, I knew we were meant to be. He was a very shy kitty, but he came out
of his shell within a few years and developed into a total "Mama's Boy"! For
some reason I always knew he would grow old. (He will be eighteen in one month!)
I've saved him from an early death at least three times, once at three when
he developed crystals he couldn't pass, and several times in the last few
years when he had pancreatic attacks. He also suffers from megacolon and
renal failure. :( I'm very blessed to be able to extend his life through
daily fluids and medications. I believe in doing what I can for him as long
as he has quality of life, which he does.
I say all this because he never complains when given pills, fluids or even a
bath! He just purrs. He loves it when I kiss his ears and "squeaks" with
delight. It's so cute! In the entire time I've had him, I've never even heard
him hiss ... not even once!
