Howdy
folks! My name is Toby Tufty-Toes and I'm a nine-year-old Maine Coon
boy and I live with my purrents in Saanich, British Columbia, Canada. I am a
very Big boy too as I weigh twenty pounds (9 kg). When I was a baby, I was very sick and
the white coats gave me some banana-flavored medicine. Mama and Daddy called
it "ick" and I didn't like it at first, but I got used to it and used to peep
and open my mouth for the eye dropper. That's how I grew up to be so big,
even if it did take my legs a long time to catch up! I really love it when my
purrents remind me of those days and I give them such a look. For many years
I was not very cuddly, but since I turned nine, I love to snuggle on the
couch with my Papa., and I make him turn on his side so there is room for me
- after all, I weight twenty pounds! I also give my purrents lick-kissies now, too!

Toby loves to play with a wand toy - a short stick with a very long fabric
tail - he gets so excited - it's like he is now having his missing
kitten-hood because of his illness. He is not a lap cat but will snuggle on
the couch. If you look at him, he just lights up and you can see the love
coming right out of him - he smiles too!
Our precious Toby is known as the butler - he escorts his purrents everywhere
but only at his own stately pace. Even though he is going on ten, he plays
just like a kitten! His mouth is open and he smiles really big. He has a VERY
loud voice and he also likes to hear his own voice. He loves to cuddle with
us and even though he is a very big boy, his purr is very soft and cooey. You
can see the mischief in his eyes and suddenly he gets a case of the "sillies"
and runs all over the place and attacks all his scratching posts. He's not
much interested in people food, but does love his Temptations! We sure hope
he stays with us at least another ten years because he is so very sweet! We
sure love our Toby Tufty-toes!
