My
father found this pretty girl one random night. He was finishing his
chores when suddenly a very tiny kitten ran up to him. She was meowing
desperately and she was very skinny. She was one of the kittens we had been
looking for, for many days. Her mother had died and we were unable to find
her litter of kittens. Knowing that her mother was gone, my dad immediately
picked Serena up and took her to the house.
We bottle fed her and nursed her back to health. She's always been a naughty,
mischievous little thing. When she was younger she would wrestle with my
Dachshund. And even though Serena was tiny compare to the dog, she usually
won. And when I held her she would look into my eyes and reach up to touch my
face lightly with her paw. She's the sweetest thing (when she wants to be).
Anytime you're around her she purrs nonstop. You can hold her like a baby and
cuddle her anytime, she loves any attention she can get. One day I asked her
why she was so happy (because she purred so much). My dad said, "If you went
through what she did and survived, every day would be a gift. That's how she
sees it, and that's why she's so happy." Serena reminds me that every day we
have is a gift, we should cherish it, and not take it for granted.
