Six
months ago a lovely, friendly, petite black kitten wandered into our
backyard. Our yard is welcoming to strays or any cat who might need a drink
of water and a place that is peaceful with nice "hidey holes" for an afternoon snooze.
Seeing that Sugar (I called her that immediately), was so interested in our
location and she got along with my four other cats, I bought her a nice wood
cat house up off the ground with real roofing tiles. I put a cozy in there
and she started to nap there and get shelter out of the rain.
My husband, Howard, fell totally in love with her, and decided she needed to
live with us. One week, she started coming to the front yard and finally
sitting at our glass storm door watching us in our kitchen and living room.
Sugar walked in and has never left. She has outdoor access in a large yard
and they have short hours to hang outside. One afternoon I found Sugar sound
asleep on a beach chair in the shade.
She is by far the happiest little lady and eager and unafraid and seems so
thankful for her own home.
