Summer
has no tail which is typical of many Manx cats although many do have
stumpy or half or whole tails. Summer was born here to aristocratic parents;
both Manx. He looks almost like duplicate of his father Sunny. His registered
name is Sansq Summer Sunset because he was the last litter born from our
Manx. His father is Sansq Summer Sunrise.
Summer does not like shows so we opted not to take him to cat shows after his
first show where he place in the top Manx. He became too stressed by all the
noise and people, so he is now neutered, and a loved pet. He is a good
representation of his breed. His color is called red classic tabby.
Like many Manx cats he is round bodied and has a coat that is thick with a
heavy undercoat. If he were an outdoor cat this coat would keep him warm and
keep him dry as the undercoat sheds water.
Summer has a great personality. He loves to play, has a very funny sense of
humor as you can see from his photo and is loved by all that know him.
He is very outgoing with people he knows and also with one of our Basenji
dogs who raised him from a kitten. We also found he likes our chickens. He is
living with four spayed females, all Manx and will live out his years with us.
Now eight years old, he will probably live to be sixteen to eighteen years.
