Chimney
has been an amazing cat from the get go, though I guess I
should start off on how he managed to get his name. His mother Sammy,
had a litter of four kittens, including Chimney, and for her it was
obvious that the box we had chosen wasn't good enough for her kids, so
she had chosen an old chimney that was held in one of the bedrooms. At
first we didn't notice her moving Chimney, but we managed to spot her
moving one of his sisters. During our retrieval of getting him out, we
had to destroy it, as well as calling one of my smaller friends to fit
up there. This happened a second time as well, without the destroying
the chimney part, since it was still ruined, but we did block it off
so it didn't happen again. We weren't always going to keep him, he was
going to be adopted out to a family friend, but then she had picked up
a job and no longer had any time for a new pet, and our family had
already somewhat gotten attached to him, so it didn't take much to say
that we are going to keep him.
Now Chimney is one of my motivations to keep up with my photography,
what with him always posing and not being too far away or too close at
times. Even without the camera, Chimney is one of the most cuddliest
cats I have known, always wanting to be around people. When it is
around foaling time, he comes out and sit on our laps, often falling
asleep and helping keeping us warm during the nights. Chimney is also
quite a talkative boy, whenever getting the chance he is asking for
attention. I also had taught him, along with a couple other of our
cats, to if they want to be held, they put there front paws on your
legs. He picked that up, and now uses it often!
