Lucy
and her now-deceased sister Ethel came to me in 2003 at three years old from
a friend who's mother could no longer care for them. They were two sisters
that got along perfectly. I loved every minute of watching the two run around
together. Ethel unexpectedly died in Dec, 2005 and shortly afterward, I
adopted a little boy, two years old, and named him
Ricky.
He's now eleven years old. Lucy never really took to liking
Ricky. In fact, she can't stand him. Every time he comes near her, she growls
at him and runs to hide wherever she can.
Lucy likes to stay in the large basement room by herself. She has her special
toys she plays with. Her favorite toy is a large cigar stuffed with catnip.
She just goes wild over the cigar. She also watches an awful lot of TV. She
stays in the clubroom all the time now and sits on a real nice chair and
watches TV. It doesn't matter what is on, she watches it.
At a vet visit in March 2014, it was determined that at nineteen pounds she was
overweight and I had to put her on a diet. She has now lost at least nine pounds (4kg).
I am very proud of her. I think she even feels better too. She's
running around more. When Ricky comes near her now, she growls and lets him
know who is boss of the room!
