This is Emily, our little shorthaired kitty with 2 different colored eyes! This is technically called heterochromia, but that is just part of what makes her special.
Do not let her petite size or innocent look fool you! She is 35 pounds of sass in an 8-pound feline frame. She never misses the chance to to box the ears of the other household cats.
Dogs fear her, too! She is proof that the size of the “cattitude” matters far more than anything else! We love her just as she is!
Emily is the daughter of a much beloved cat named Loretta who has now passed on. Loretta was the much beloved daughter of
Mosche who is the grand matriarch of my feline tribe. So she has long lineage in my household.
Her hearing appears to be within normal limits, albeit very selective! She is an ardent connoisseur of organic catnip and insists on a daily ritual as follows:
1. Late afternoon, she goes to wait at her scratching toy.
2. I open the catnip and offer her a sniff.
3. She sticks a paw in and tries to knock the jar out of my hand.
4. I scatter the herbs over her scratching area.
5. She sticks a paw in and tries to knock the jar out of my hand.
She is NOT the most affectionate cat I ever had. She has never crawled into my lap.
She will let me pick her up for about ten seconds. But the biggest, most fabulous thing about Emily (besides her stunning personality and her
mismatched eyes) is that her mother, Loretta, was diagnosed with feline leukemia very soon after Emily was born.
In spite of that, Emily has remained virus-free and is a beautiful, healthy girl. Sassy, happy, beautiful, and healthy: the way all kitties should be!
