Meet Mandu, also known as Cat-Mandu. He is very playful but also loves
to snuggle on a cold night. In a house full of Irish love, he is the
master. He decides when it's time to play and when it's time to snuggle.
As his servants we don't mind it at all - we actually live to love him
and love to love him.
At only five months, Mandu has actually been through a lot. He fell
unwell and was admitted to the Animal Emergency Centre and treated for
pleural effusion. He had excess fluids built up in his lungs and thorax
and couldn't breathe. He was sedated and had a tap placed in his chest
to drain out the puss. He had a very tough surgery and struggled to
breathe afterward so he was put in an oxygen tent.
We were so close to losing Mandu because he was just so small to handle
the surgery. His recovery was a miracle. We cherish his every move now,
every little thing he does means the world. After the surgery, every
time we had to give him his medicine he seemed upset with us, but he
somehow understands all of that now. He comes up and kisses my nose and
cuddles into my neck. I think he's thanking us for making him feel
better.
It has now been a few weeks and he's never been better. He is feeling
happy and healthy again. Mandu is back to being himself. He is now more
charismatic and troublesome than ever. He has so much love to give and
is very affectionate. But of course, as the master of the house he is
the commander. He commands you to play with him and pat him. He is just
so adorable. He is perfect.
