My mom went to the animal shelter to choose a cat. She had just lost her previous cat after having him being alive for 18 years. As she was looking at the available cats, Mystic reached out for her through the bars of the cage, and my mom realized she had been chosen.
Once she was home, it took a while to name her, though. Mom ended up naming Mystic after her favorite town in Connecticut after a visit there. Mystic, Connecticut is an old seaport on the other side of the country from us. As a cat, Mystic has her own air of mystery about her sometimes, so it fits that way, too. We love her.
