Hi, my name is Scratchy. I found my new home on an October morning by running up to my new daddy when he was on his way to work. I was hungry and scared and had been outside for some time, so he gave me a few treats. After that, I tried to get into his truck, but he could not take me to work so he put me on his back porch with some food and water. He called my new mommy to tell her about me. She said if I was still there when she got home from work later that day, that they would think about keeping me. Well, guess what, I was still there. I knew I was home. They took me to the vet to see if I had a chip, but I did not. They looked for lost kitty signs all around, but could not find any. My family thinks I got dropped off in the neighborhood. There is a photo of me the first day here loving on my new mommy. Also, one of me being silly. I have a fascination with the refrigerator and am always trying to jump in it.
I have a big brother, named Ochie, who I love a lot, but like to pester him. We play wrestle all of the time. He's almost 16 pounds but I am catching up to him very quickly. We're about a year apart, so he's still got a lot of kitty in him, too. My parents say he reminds them of Thomas O'Malley the alley cat. Ochie is named after Little Ochie, a tiny fishing village in Jamaica my parents visited last year while on vacation. How cool is that?
We both get to play outside when our parents are home and can watch us. It's fun to explore. And, we sleep and eat a lot. That's fun, too! Ochie and Scratchy live the good life.
