Simba changed my life.
When I moved to Uruguay, I was almost alone. I had some friends (and my boyfriend), but I can't live without an animal companion. I've always had pets: dogs, ferrets, rats, even an eagle! You name it. But I never have had a cat. My family didn't like them, they said cats were mean and treacherous. I partially believed that.
But then I adopted Simba. He was born in an acquaintance's backyard. The owner of the house didn't like them, and was looking for someone to take them a.s.a.p. I took him home.
At first, I almost regretted my decision. He was so small I thought he was going to die and my heart was going to be broken. I had to go to work during the day, and when I came back, he slowly aproached me, trembling, and only ate when I was next to him. He looked so fragile! But he slowly grew up, and became the fuzzy monster you see in the pictures. :)
Obviously, my family was totally wrong! Simba loves being alongside me. When I come home, he cries like crazy and purrs while I pet him, greeting him. He LOVES to play with basically anything, including balls. Sometimes he looks like a dog, catching the balls I throw away. He's also crazy about food, honestly, people can't believe how greedy he is. You can't eat anything in peace, unless it's fruit. He even stole my broccoli once!
He loves having his belly rubbed and sleeps next to me when I'm using the computer. He's always close to me. I really feel like he loves me, but who knows if animals can actually feel "love" like we do.
One thing I know for sure is that I do love him a lot. I can't believe how much I love him, after all the people telling me cats were horrible. I don't know about every cat, but at least Simba is awesome. My best furry friend, I'm so happy I met him. :)
