I watched this small black cat roam the neighborhood all one summer. In the early fall I saw her picking through a garbage bag behind my neighbors’ house. I put out food and water, and she went right to it. After three days I waited for her and she let me pet her. She was so skinny under her longish hair. Holding open the door, she came right in jumped up on the couch and laid down. She seemed so happy to be inside, and safe. The veterinarian gave a clean bill of health, and she is now in her forever home.
Although she doesn't care to be held, she is very affectionate. She will walk up to me and flirt, with her bushy tail waving high, wanting petting. She loves playing fetch, and will follow me from room to room, too. Any cardboard box, no matter how small has to be checked out. She is such a little sweetie. I'm lucky to have her.
