Cocoa and Rosie are brother and sister and were born on August 2, 2015 in Ontario, Canada. Devon Rex cats are certainly a very curious and loving breed having been described as a mix between a cat, a dog and a monkey. How true this is!
They are both very affectionate and don't stray away from each other or their humans very often and will come to the door to greet us when we come home from work. Cocoa has mastered the art of getting extra cuddles by jumping up onto my shoulders and nuzzling my face. While Rosie hasn't jumped up on any shoulders, she sits back and watches what her brother does and tries the same thing, although they don't really need to try anything for extra cuddles or play time! Both are very playful and love chasing after their foam balls and toy mice as well as each other. Cocoa has even learned to play fetch while Rosie hasn't quite mastered that trick yet.
The word ‘dinner' gets their attention very quickly and causes them to trot very quickly into the kitchen for their favorite food. They do need to be watched while they eat since when one finishes eating before the other, usually Cocoa, they will try to muscle in on the other's food bowl for more. I've never seen cats with such a healthy appetite either being fed 4 times a day!
My husband has allergies to cats and since the Devon Rex breed has only the undercoat of fur, he is able to tolerate them quite well in the house. They travel well to our place up north for our vacations and weekends away and love watching nature through the windows and patio doors from their cat trees and window ledges.
Cocoa and Rosie have brought much joy to our home and we can't imagine not having them with us!
