Beizy the Domestic Shorthair, the Cat of the Day
Name: Beizy
Age: Eight years old
Gender: Female
Kind: Domestic Shorthair
Home: Montana, USA

Beizy is simply pronounced B - as in Bee - and Z, as in Zebra. However, Beizy goes by many names. Including but not limited to: Little C, Bissy, Beizle-bay, and Ceal. She is anxious and often lets our other cat push her around. This also means that she is very sweet. Offering cuddles during the night. She enjoys to lay on a sleeping person's side, though is easily discouraged by tossing and turning. She has many other favorite places to loaf around. Including her 2 beds, clean clothes, our stepping stool, the back of the couch, my bed, office chairs, in front of my dresser.

She very much enjoys my dresser, because that's where her favorite toy is stored: Go Cat's Da Rat chaser toy. She begs to play with it all daym, though stops chasing it shortly after the play session begins. Few possess the ability to use this toy enticingly. Even though I don't find it hard, lazily bobbing the toy is the wrong approach. She enjoys it being flung. When she catches the elusive rodent, she just holds it in her mouth while kicking her back legs.

Beizy has a fear of plastic bags. Especially trash bags. We got Beizy from a classified ad for someone trying to rehome kittens, for free. We drove down to Great Falls to pick her up. She was small enough to fit in a pocket, as well as being too young to be away from her mother, but alas. She also has problems with her teeth, many ending up needing removal. She is mostly fed wet paté now.

Beizy enjoys other animals, even if she doesn't get to be around them much. We temporarily had rats. Beizy never left the little rodent's sides. She never seemed malicious. She loved to watch them scurry around their cage. Which may end in some nips on the nose. No nip deterred Little C from being curious. I don't believe Beizy would have the same attitude towards birds. She seems to stalk birds outside, and chirp at them from the window. She becomes a fierce predator when a moth finds its way inside, paying no mind to whatever she happens to knock over in the process.

We had another cat that acted as a sort of father figure to baby Beizy. He has sadly passed shortly after we got her. Ever since he went to the vet and never returned, Beizy is horrified of the place. Her eyes are stretched wide, and she will try to hide her head in someone's arms. Afterwards she will dive back into the safety of her carrier. (One time literally jumping off the table and diving into the carrier sitting on a chair.) Beizy's name is a sort of strange form of "baby". I would call her baby as a kitten, which eventually morphed into "beizy" And the name stuck. I love her!
