This is our sweetheart Blootje (pronounced blowtjeh, means naked in Dutch). We got Blootje when she was nearly a year old, because on of our neighbours told us she knew somehow who had a sphynx, but wanted to get rid of her.
Since we already had a Sphynx we knew they were adorable cats, and immediately said yes, especially after we found out the 'owner' of Blootje was thinking of putting her to sleep, but hadn't done so yet because she could have a litter of kittens and sell them!
Of course we took Blootje in, who was terrified of everything and severely neglected, skin over bones, and had her neutered right away, so the old owner would not come back for her. Poor Blootje had spend her entire life before us locked up in a room.
When she got our love and affection and lots of attention and hugs, she soon enough turned out to be a real sweetheart, and she turned out to be an adorable pet. She would always come running when she saw me, and she had the funniest ugliest and loudest meow I ever heard! She is a mix, and you can see she did have some fur on her face, just not much. But we thought she was adorable just the way she was.
She would sweep everything we ate from our plates, from beans to pickles and from meat to whipped cream, she liked everything. And she would bite my finger and her own tail. She was something special for sure. :)
One month, however she started to lose weight, and it soon turned out she had liver cancer. We had to let her go, and that was a pretty painful thing to do. However, Blootje will remain in out hearts forever.
