Winnie is an older, blind, diabetic feline that needed a permanent home. She was staying at the vet office, after being relinquished. thank you to our veterinarian for saving her life.
I had never had a blind cat, or a diabetic cat before, although I've had many rescues. I was unsure of my ability to give the insulin, and the ability to take care of a blind animal. As it turned out, she took care of me.
For her shots, Winnie would move to the kitchen rug, and sit, while I prepared the needle. She didn't give me any trouble, and 95% of the time, she sat their dutifully, and supported me until I was more comfortable with the process.
All her senses are heightened because of the physical blindness. When she first explored the house, maneuvering between spaces and furniture and rooms, her ability to separate the dense energy from the lighter energy was near perfection.
She loves to play with balls, her mice, and both her vertical and horizontal scratching post. She listens to the birds and the squirrels, and enjoys the fresh air.
Winnie is kind, gentle, considerate, loving, spacious and generous. Her unconditional love, trust, encouragement and faith is every expanding. She is social, protective, aware, and optimistic. She shares, communicates, connects and initiates. She is the most incredible feline I have ever know, and the closest soul to perfect, if not perfection itself.
