Barnum found me while I was leaving the Barnum and Baily Circus all those years ago in downtown Dallas. Traffic was a mess! The cars leaving the arena came to a quick stop in front of us, leaving us to wonder what was going on. Then I spotted him. "It's a kitty!!" I said. We pulled over and Barnum, along with his brothers and sisters were milling around in the street - which was busy with cars!! We scooped up the kittens and tried returning them to the nearest house. The kittens did belong there, but Barnum wasn't allowed in because they "didn't like that one." So, home he came!
He stepped foot into the apartment without any fear, found the litter box, then the food dish and then it was playtime! He was thin and covered with huge Texas-sized fleas! He got his first bath that night. Since then, he has grown into a wonderful, beautiful cat. He adores his sister, Kit E. Kat, and brother, Bongo Kitty. And he loves his human, me. He's a "dog-cat" and follows me everywhere. He and Bongo love to greet me at the front door each evening when I arrive home from work. Barnum "flops" down in front of me and shows his belly, awaiting his daily belly rub and a game of mouse. I was determined to find him a home that first night when I rescued him. But I became SO attached to this little guy. He has personality PLUS! He doesn't just walk around the house ... he swaggers. His tail swishes. And when he looks up at me with those big blue eyes of his, well, let's just say that he gets about anything he wants! (of course so do the other kitties!)
I couldn't have special-ordered a more perfect kitty - he is so loyal and loving - and to think I found him playing in traffic!!
